feedhaus Featured on Robert Scoble's Video Blog

Robert Scoble and I had a great talk the other day. Robert, an avid feed consumer, was an excellent critic of the site -- this video will give you an idea of what features we'll be adding in the near future, many of which were based on his suggestions. Enjoy!

What's the point of this service if you can't add OPML lists of feeds?

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your feedback! Several people have suggested that we start supporting OPML, so you're not alone. In fact, it's one of the things that Scoble and I talked about in his video.

The problem with feedhaus and OPML is that we want you to manually tag each feed. Bulk upload through OPML doesn't really support this idea, which is why right now you have to add feeds one at a time.

However, I can envision a UI that would accept your OPML file and then ask you to supply a set of tags for each feed. This could be a pretty time consuming activity, especially if you, like Scoble, read hundreds of feeds. (He reads over 800.)

I read about 30 feeds on a regular basis, so I didn't have a problem with the one-by-one adding mechanism.

So I hope you can see our point of view and the point of the service. If we do figure out a reasonable way to support OPML, we'll certainly advertise it here. If you want to share your e-mail address, we can let you know via that mechanism as well.

Thanks again for your feedback!

Best regards,
Chris
